Plante annuelle de 10-30 cm, glabre, à racine grêle ; tiges simples ou un peu rameuses à la base, ascendantes, très scabres et accrochantes
Écologie : (répartition d'après la flore) Champs cultivés, surtout calcaires, dans presque toute la France et en Corse.
Répartition hors de France : Europe; Asie occidentale; Afrique septentrionale.

A rather stout, sub-erect annual with rough, little-branched, straggling stems 23-37 cm high.
Ecology UK: (distribution according to flora) It is found as a cornfield weed in various parts of England, though rarely, and chiefly in the south.
